On February 9, the night before the 2013 Grammys, Chris Brown was reportedly in an auto accident that left his car totaled. He was alone and uninjured, thankfully, but the paparazzi was to blame.

Chris Brown’s rep reported that two cars cut him off and aggressively got out to start taking pictures of the celebrity. In an attempt to flee, he backed down an alley where two other vehicles with paparazzi had cut him off too.

It is unfortunate that some people will go to extremes to invade someone else’s privacy. I’m sure celebrities would be a lot more willing to pose for pictures if the paparazzi weren’t so aggressive and invading. Don’t feel too sorry for Chris Brown, he was able to still make it to the Grammys, and he even got a new paint job on another one of his cars. Check this out:

Ivanic, et al, compared three types of seats: the Whiplash Protection System (WHIPS), active head restraint (AHR), and no head restraint(NHR). Facet compression was noted in all three cases, although the studies show a 43-75% reduction in whiplash claims using the new seat designs.

There have been mixed results so far in other studies, but at least the automakers are taking rear-end collisions into consideration and the devastating effects that can be caused. Who knows, maybe one day we will all be driving seats with head restraint systems like that of NASCAR drivers. Until then, buckle up, and drive safe.

Everyone knows that smoking is bad for your health. Unfortunately it is up to the individual to decide whether or not he or she wants to continue smoking. I have seen individuals being wheeled around in a wheelchair with an oxygen tank, smoking a cigarette. Yeah, I was awestruck. Then I ran for cover in case the oxygen tank exploded, hahahaha.

On a serious note, it doesn’t matter what bad health report is given to a smoker, they may still choose to smoke. Well guess what? Here is another reason you should quit smoking right now. According to Durazzo et al, and de Leeuw et al:

“smokers are more likely to suffer long-term effects from mild traumatic brain injuries (MTBI). Chronic smoking was found to affect neurocognitive function such as processing speed, memory measures, and visuospatial memory following MTBI. Greater duration and frequency of smoking was related to significantly reduced improvement in neurocognitive function following MTBI. These results suggest that chronic cigarette smoking should be considered a potential factor influencing recovery from traumatic brain injuries.”

So if you wish to let your neurocognitive function decrease, then go ahead and keep on smoking. If you want to keep your brain working at its full potential, then I recommend finding a safe and effective way to kick the habit.
